Big App

Jeff and I head up to New York this week -- me for a couple of weeks, he's there through the fall.

Any recommendations for a good subway guide app for the iPhone? The one from HopStop seems to be a complete disaster -- odd, considering how good their online site is.

Also looking for suggestions of what (and who) to see and do while we're in town. (Wait, Cats has closed? WTF?)

Fortunately for you, Phantom is still playing!

As for iPhone apps, there aren't many good ones that have the hopstop-like trip planner, although with the recent updates to the Google Maps app (Maps, native to the iphone), it can figure out which subways you need to go from A->B.

However, I've found a handy app called City Transit that has the full map, and a map for each line, as well as a link to any service changes. It does cost something, but I forgot how much.
